Being a beach bum, summer is obviously my favorite season of the year. So I’m usually bummed when it comes to an end-but not this year! Fall is more than a time to say farewell to summer nights and turn back our clocks one hour. In youth fall means time for a new school year, new clothes, new supplies, new backpack. In my corporate career fall was busy season which meant, more projects, more events, more early mornings, more late nights. Whether you are a student, a professional, an entrepreneur, a parent, single or married, fall is the perfect time to accomplish as many of your goals as possible before the end of the year.
“Organizing is what you do before you do something, so that when you do it, it’s not all mixed up” – A. A. Milne
In order for any test, meeting or project to go well you need to be prepared. Following the same line of thought, we also need to prepare ourselves for a successful fall (September-November). Please join me in making August the month to plan and prepare ourselves to finish the year strong with our #fallbackintorhythm challenge!
The following slideshow is a summary of what to do in August. You can do them in any order that works for you and add/adjust tasks as needed to support your individual goals and lifestyle. The important part is to have your game plan and schedule set up before the end of August. Tasks on your lists can be completed throughout the fall season depending on urgency.
Here are a few of my own personal goals for inspiration:
- Finish the books I have began reading
- Get back to meditating daily
- Teach my dogs a few new tricks
- Stick to my exercise plan for more than a month (I’m horrible with this one)
- Stop frivolous spending and stick to my budget by participating in The Practical Minimalists #yearofenough challenge
- Create an effective blog editorial calendar
