Creating a Clutch Car: Organizing your car to go the extra mile for you

       With summer upon us, kids out of school, fairs, festivals and concerts galore, mind blowing movies, and other summer activities in full swing we can all expect to be busy the next few months. Being on the go can also mean more time behind the wheel.
       Organizing your car to suit your summer needs can come in pretty clutch. Otherwise we’re always realizing what we’ve forgotten as we arrive at our destination. I’ve definitely had my moments where I realize I’m covered in dog hair or have wolverine eyebrows and don’t have time to turn around or run back in the house to grab tweezers or a lent brush (These are obviously 2 items that I now keep on deck in the glove box). Remember to think of others also and consider the needs of friends and family you most often drive around. For example, I keep treats and water for my dogs handy in my trunk caddy.

 My Clutch Car Summer Essentials:  
  • Sunscreen & Sunglasses
  • Beach towel
  • Chap-stick and lipstick
  • Bobby pins & hair ties
  • Travel size toiletries (mouthwash, contact solution, lotion, etc)
  • Mini first aid kit
  • Reusable shopping bags
  • Doggie poop bags (which I use as trash bags)
  • Water bottles
  • Car care supplies
  • Mints
  • Perfume
  • Phone/tablet chargers
  • Picnic/outdoor blanket
  • Action item bag (one bag of things that need to be returned to stores or people, mailed, etc.)
Additional items to consider (depending on your lifestyle):
  • Jacket
  • Hat
  • Change of clothes/shoes
  • Snack bag (especially for kids)
  • Overnight bag
  • Gym bag
  • Athletic/sports gear in trunk based on your hobbies this season (volleyball, basketball, yoga mat, etc)
